Real English was a really simple idea. Why not film English-speaking people we meet on the street, instead of using actors? We can have normal conversations with these people, mostly from the US and the UK, but also people from around the world who speak English fluently.
So we carefully chose our questions, and asked many people the same questions. Each day, we had 7 or 8 questions, and we changed them regularly. Some questions worked well, and others didn't work at all. Like everyone else, we learned by doing.
We spent a lot of time editing the videos, and we usually rejected most of the people we interviewed. Obviously, we kept the best ones, always including happy people with good answers!
All of our Lessons and the Exercises for our videos are completely free on the Real English site, at
www.real-english.com/ We are a true community of teachers & students learning together!

There's quite a bit of interesting vocabulary in this video, a continuation of lesson 30. For example we learn about husbandry, and hanging out, mowing pastures, and raising hogs. We also learn bizarre little facts, such as the fact that some Americans equate "Lipton" with soup instead of tea. We learn what a paralegal does, for example, and the fact that an acre is a lot smaller than a hectare.

This is one of the least watched videos in Real English®, for reasons I do not understand. Personally, I really like the people we meet here, such as Joe in Exercises 1 to 3, who I find to be a most likeable guy.
